The heroes of Beowulf held many positive traits. For example, most heroes in this story were courageous. Beowulf did not run away from danger as did others around him. Beowulf went looking for fights to prove how courageous he was to the people of Heorot. Also, heroes loved to gloat about their trials and tribulations. When Beowulf first arrived to Heorot, he told tales of all his previous escapades. Before Beowulf fought Grendel he told the people how he would fight Grendel and how he would defeat him. Lastly, heroes depicted during this time period were very beautiful. As Beowulf approached the Danes, they stated how stunning this man was. During this era, beauty and heroism went hand in hand.
