Jase had fallen asleep in Bennett’s old bedroom looking at her childhood pictures. After playing with most of her old toys, he didn’t seem to want to leave her room or her side.
“I think we’ll stay. You will need help moving everything and I have a truck to haul the furniture to Goodwill. I can even haul some of your things back home for you, if you need me too. And if I’m going to be honest, I don’t want to leave you here with that dirt bag Vance coming around. I didn’t like the vibe I got from him.”

I knew he treated me bad sometimes, but he treated me good sometimes too. I thought I was falling in love with him. Then one day he just dropped me, and he disappeared. I really thought I would never see him again. But a few years later he showed back up. I know I’ve got to be the most idiotic person, but I jumped at the chance to take him back. He said all the right stuff at first, but he eventually went right back to the way he was before, maybe even worse than the first time. He took a deep breath and told her the truth. Every ugly detail about that night, the night he cheated on his wife. About celebrating his promotion with the guys from work and the drinking getting out of hand, about waking up with Emma. Not remembering the act, but knowing it must have happened. She seemed to be taking it ok, until he told her about the birth of his son the next day. Yes, his wife was pregnant when he cheated. Her eyes turned angry, he could see why. What he had done was despicable.
“I can see why you didn’t want to say anything.” She started to say, but he interrupted.
“That’s not all, it gets worse.” The next part was worse… much
