Beneteau Oceanis 41 Research Paper

Improved Essays
The Beneteau Oceanis 41 was designed for sailing comfort and ease. Several friends of mine sail this boat and rave about the size and stability of this 41 ft. luxury vessel. I have had the pleasure of being a passenger aboard the 41 my friend sailed and I was mesmerized by the grandness of every aspect of the boat. Most impressive of all is that a boat this size can easily be handled by just two people.

Accommodation

The 41 has 3 separate layout designs to choose the layout that will suit your guest configuration best. 2 to 3 cabins and 6 to 6+2 berths are available to make your trip as comfortable as possible. No matter which layout you choose, there is ample room for storage with several wide berths that can hold swim, diving, or scuba

In my opinion, this is an excellent vessel to learn to sail with, but that doesn't mean I couldn't imagine a trip on the 41 with a hired skipper. If you are looking for a romantic escape without the worry of handling a yacht, a skipper is a definite must-have. Skipper or no skipper, you are looking at smooth sailing with the 41. It's windward performance stable and strong, and, when out in open water, the vessel remains steady.

Comparison with 45

A comparison between the 41 and the 45 comes down to small details, as the 2 boats are almost identical. The 45 has more design options than the 41, but the initial layout is the same. As for comfort, both vessels have plenty of space, but the 41 is cozier and rough waters are less noticeable below the deck of the 41 than in the 45. The 45 also lags a bit windward when under sail, while the 41 can generally power through without incident.

Pros:

Controls and sails are easy to handle and control
Lots of space and room for privacy
Massive saloon space below

Shipping Out and Into the Heart of Darkness I was relieved when I found out in Tom Scocca’s interview with David Foster Wallace that Harper’s magazine had the writer cut in half what was a 110-page article. I enjoyed reading the magazine’s published version, but was also more than ready for the cruise and the article to end when it did. I think I was possibly feeling a little of what Wallace was feeling, which is a credit to his descriptive and precise prose. “Shipping Out: On the (nearly lethal) Comforts of a Luxury Cruise” displays Wallace’s wit, perception, and humor, as well as his affinity for the big word.…

The "obscure" place I chose to write about is called Fier's Ship House in Albania, and I specifically chose this location because I actually grew up going to this boat a lot with my grandmother. In Albania, you can see around 7 of these boats that have been permanently left on the shallows of the beaches just by walking down the shoreline for 20 minutes. They're very beautiful and big boats, one I specifically remember had carnival rides on it, being so young that one was my favorite so my grandmother and I went there often when my family visited Albania. I didn't just decide to talk about these boats because I've been there before, but because a great majority of the memories I have of my grandmother are made up by these hour long adventures…

I chose to create the boat because it reminds me of my childhood when I went to Syria for vacation. This was in 2005 and I was about 5 years old, this memory will never sneak out of my head. It reminds me of when I had crossed the ocean to get to Cyprus, a small island, it had taken about three and a half hours to get to my final destination. On my journey to Cyprus i had seen some great stuff such as, whales and dolphins. The dolphins were so playful that they were always near us and singing.…
