Seborrheic Keratosis’ are harmless, common, skin growths which often begin about age 35 and become more pronounced with age. They may occur on either covered or uncovered parts of the body and they are not caused by sunlight. A tendency to develop this type of growth is inherited.

Seborrheic Keratosis are considered harmless and never become malignant. This type of growth is superficial and can be removed surgically in the office with good healing outcomes. The only reason for removing a seborrheic keratosis is because the patient wants it off because it is unsightly, or because a garment rubbing it causes discomfort.
