Everyone knows about what happened during World War II – Hitler’s prejudice ideas and stereotypes towards the Jews and the Aryan race’s superiority brought about the Holocaust and the death of over six million Jews. Yet, we all know that Jews were merely a scapegoat; Hitler’s lack of understanding towards other cultures could, therefore, be concluded as the main reason for World War II. Now, will you like to see a World War III happen, simply because of prejudice? I wouldn’t. Furthermore 100% of the surveyed agrees that students must learn about other cultures. Understanding and appreciating other cultures effectively prevents prejudice, and learning foreign languages solves the problem. A foreign language not only teaches the language, but also the culture. While everyone agrees with gaining knowledge about other cultures, they disagree upon the best method. 13 people stated that they prefer learning foreign language, 12 people choose reading books, while 10 voted for traveling, and 7 decided to meet people from that cultural group. Yet, keep in mind that traveling and meeting people requires knowledge about the language. Otherwise, how can you communicate?
