What is being Health Literate. Being Health literate is being a critical thinker and problem solver, a responsible productive citizen, a self directed learner, and an effective communicator. Being a critical thinker or problem solver means to be able to make right decisions and to be able to solve problems that others can't solve. Being a responsible, productive citizen means to be a responsible person and use their time wisely. Being a self directed learner means to be able to teach yourself and able to teach someone else. You would also be a quick learner. An effective communicator is someone able to communicate with people good or able to speak as the voice of reason.
Literate means able to read. Health Literate describes an individual's capacity to obtain, interpret, and understand basic health information and services and use such information and services in ways that promote his or her health and wellness. The definition that we are discussing is a person’s mental or physical condition. To be health you need to be able to talk to people, be able to take care of your body so that you can live a full life. You need to be okay in the head which means you have to be stable and able to take care of yourself. You don’t have to be born with a mental disability too have to be mentally unstable. There are things in your life that can cause you to be mentally unstable such as something you witnessed in a war, a near death experience, or even being bullied in school can make people do things that they wouldn’t have done if they hadn't been
