Behavior Modification Assignment: I Decided To Drink Less Soda

For my behavioral modification assignment, I decided to drink less soda. Before we were assigned this project, I had already begun changing my lifestyle to healthier eating habits by basically making healthy choices. My main goal for this assignment was to not completely stop drinking soda all together but to at least lessen the intake of how much soda I drink. My main motivation was for my skin. I was positive that the cutting out of sodas would have by far the biggest impact on clearing my skin and making it less oily. Deep down I have always known that I needed to cut out sodas. I actually just recently started this habit of drinking sodas. It all began when I started working at the movies and there was nothing else for employees there to drink but soda. Of course, you could purchase a ½ liter water bottle for $4 but I was broke, so I had to stick with the free soda every day I worked. The first month I never noticed a change in my skin, but after about three months I had really bad acne. I already have naturally oily skin, which I have to take medicine for so when I started to drink two to three cups of soda every day, my skin just got progressively worse and worse.

Although I did start to drink a little more soda in the end, I still made my goal which was to drink less soda so my skin would be better. In the second week I started to drink water instead, so my skin really became smooth and I noticed that the redness fades quicker.
In Conclusion, I feel as though I could have done a better job at lessening my soda intake. For the last week, I should have drank more water. I was doing really well in not drinking soda for the third week and then I started to fall back into old habits. If I had to do this project over again I probably would substitute the water for each time I wanted a drink and put lemon in the water so it will not be bland and
