It was the last week of July in the summer of 2016 when I turned a vegetarian. My stepsister and I were on our way to an overnight camp and for some reason, on the ride there, I watched a very sad, disturbing video of cows in a slaughterhouse. That video was one of the reasons why I became a vegetarian and one of the reasons that influenced me the most. First I told my mom, dad, and stepmom. My mom supported my decision right off the bat and said she will help me find different foods to eat. My dad and stepmom were supportive but didn't really think I would be a vegetarian for that long. Secondly, I told my friends. Some of them were supportive. I even convinced two of my friends to become vegetarian. One of my friends lasted only two weeks, but my other friend is still a vegetarian till this day. She even convinced one of her friends to be a vegetarian. . some of my other friends make fun of the idea of being vegetarian but they still understand why a vegetarian and respect my decision. Lastly, telling strangers. Some people are interested in why I turned into a vegetarian or what my new diet is. Others are simply confused or oppose the decision.
