Ever since I was a little kid, earthquakes have mesmerized me. I have always just been absolutely amazed about the amount of destruction they cause and how powerful they are. Although I have never thought of becoming a seismologist, it something I would want to learn more about. A seismologist studies seismic waves, energy waves caused by rock suddenly breaking apart within the earth or slipping of tectonic plates. There are many ways that scientists are able to study seismic ways and earthquakes. The first way is when seismologist analyze the damaged cause by an earthquake and then study it using a seismograph. The seismograph will tell the scientists the strength and the distance of the earthquake. The main function of a seismologist is to locate the source, nature, and magnitude of a seismic event.
Recently, there has been a discovery regarding the Ancient Temples. The temples that are in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, India fall within the Kashmir seismic gap of the Northwest Himalaya range. This area has the potential to produce earthquakes of a 7.5 magnitude or larger. As stated in the article, the type of damage sustained by temples clustered around two town regions suggests that the Chamba temples may have been affected by the 1555 earthquake, while the Bharmour temples were damaged by the 1905 earthquake. Seismologist conclude that the 1555

Earth science is the branch of science dealing with the physical constitution of the earth and its atmosphere. It only makes sense that studying the earth’s seismic waves and energy waves caused by rock is relating to Earth Science. Seismology is something that has to deal with the physical constitution of the earth, i.e. earthquakes. Overall, seismology is something that has a huge impact on the Earth and I hoping I am able to learn more about it this

    A. Before the L'Aquila earthquake in 2009 people were starting to prepare for a earthquake but not a 6.3 earthquake. However, there was miscommunication between the scientist and the people of L'Aquila. Since earthquakes are the hardest natural disaster to predict, nothing is always 100 percent accurate. The seismologist involved with the making of predictions did not want to scare the people and make them prepare for an earthquake that was not going to come, when the seismologist were not even postie of the earthquake coming.…

The resistance to these currents is read creating a picture of what materials make up the ground bellow.
