Growing up, I always had my heart set on pursuing a career in the medical field. At the age of 7, I was the only one in my family who could stomach cleaning my mom’s stitches after she shattered her kneecap. The human body fascinated me. Even at this young age, I was in awe of how the surgeons were able to “put my mom back together” and how the body could heal itself. From then on, my passion to gain knowledge of the human body continued. After graduating high school, it was now time to decide what career path I wished to take. I decided that I would spend my summer in school to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
