Originaly from Italy, Cesare Beccaria (1738–1794) is one of the most notorious phylosophers of his time, recognized du his notorious book “On Crimes and Punishment” (1764)
I think this work should be present and reading by not only students in the graduate student in criminology but also in sociology as well. It 's only my opinion, but I will try to explain my reasoning.
Crime is a natural phenomenon, if there is no crime, there won 't be any punishment. The understandinf of the sel-commited crime and the accpetance of punishment.
For me the punishment is not a physical but moral, if we arrive to correct the spirit of the reasoning and understanding of the commited crime by criminal, we will be able to secessfuly eleminate at least a part of criminas from the future crime list. This book is a great leson, of transformation by the criminal, who transformed from a killer in writter, and wrote of what a harm he had commited to the society. We can see the change of the author, through the punishment, the charge with the death sentensing. It 's not before but in the prison, the correctional institution which make to realize the author of the his life will to change his
