• The Battle of San Juan Hill is issued on July 1, 1898. It is one of the biggest battle ever to be known. This took place in Cuba, where Lt. Colonel Theodore Roosevelt leads his “Rough Riders” to San Juan Heights to help fire weapons and end the Spanish American War. Cuba is then freed and the U.S. rewards Puerto Rico and Guam. This incident made my top number one event because I feel that our kids will take hold of an idea about Latin America’s history and understand it quite better.

The Great Depression
• This economic downturn is one of history’s deepest sad moments and a number one tragic event. The Great Depression began when the stock market collided on October 1929, streaking out millions of investors. Consumers were declined and people were running out of cash and credit. This ended after World War II and money was restored and people were amazingly relieved. This event is my top 7 because of other facts that others can learn more about while reading.
8. Yellow Fever
• Yellow fever posed the biggest threat to Panama Canal construction in 1904 because it conjured the most fear among American employees. Theodore Roosevelt takes charge and fumigates the jungles and from then this disease hardly appears. This event made my top 8 because others should learn more about this horrifying disease and how it posed as in past history.
9. Lend-Lease Act
• The Lend Lease Act is signed by President Roosevelt on March 11, 1941. This plan gave permission to Teddy to lend arms to any country for the defense of the United States. I picked this topic as one of my events because it talks about an important figure of the U.S. and kids should know more about him because he is placed as our president.
