Poison Dart Frog Poison dart frogs are carnivorous amphibians in the family Dendrobatidae. Some of the colors that poison dart frogs can have are blue, yellow, green, and red. Their distinct colors have a purpose of keeping predators away. Those in the Dendrobatidae family have extremely high toxicity. For example, the poison in one golden poison dart frog could kill ten people.…
Comprehensiveness- To support information about the Chupacabra through critical thinking, the evidence about the creature must be comprehensive. order to reasonably analyze evidence of the Chupacabra or an attack from one, you must recognise the possibilities of it not being a Chupacabra. To consider any slightly odd killing of a farm animal to be a Chupacabra attack would be unreasonable and senseless. Many different animals are capable of killing goats, sheep, or chickens.…
The Poison Darwin Dart frog derived from the joining of a Darwin frog and a Poison Dart frog. It is classified in domain Eukarya because it contains eukaryotic cells, uses the process cell division to replicate, and it is a multicellular organism. It is in kingdom Animalia because it is a multicellular chemoheterotroph and does not have cell wall (Domain Eukarya 1). In phylum Chordata because the Poison Darwin Dart frog contains a notochord, a hollow nerve cord, pharyngeal slits, and a postanal tail (Phylum Chordata 1). In class Amphibia because frogs live in water when they are tadpoles and their eggs need to develop in water and when they grow can live on land.…

Chupacabra What is a Chupacabra? “ [A Chupacabra] is a legendary creature in the folklore of parts of the Americas, with its first purported sightings reported in Puerto Rico” (Wikipedia). There are people who believe it is real and others who believe it's just a myth. The Chupacabra is real because there are eyewitnesses that saw it, there are many dead animals that have been drained of their blood, and it was even identified by an expert.…

I chose to investigate the environmental impact of gypsy moths because I have personally had experience cleaning up after these pests in northern Ohio and I know that they are becoming an issue in other parts of Ohio as well. I was able to witness some of the damage they have done while removing defoliated trees in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Gypsy moths are a non-native, invasive species that, over the past decade, have been coming into the state from Pennsylvania and Michigan. The moth undergoes a complete metamorphosis and while a caterpillar it has the ability to feed on over three hundred species of trees and shrubs and cause serious damage and defoliation. The moth’s preference for oak, make the oak tree particularly at risk because the caterpillars favor it and a tree can typically only withstand two years of defoliation before the damage is permanent or results in the death of the tree.…
“A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every monstrous creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other.” (Dickens) This quote by Charles Dickens means that behind every creature, there will be a furtive and cryptic background behind every fiend. With this, the finding of the chupacabra was a remarkable discovery in the Caribbean and an unbelievable recovery for past agriculturists. With these results, the chupacabra was sighted in various locations with immense evidence from DNA samples to puncture wounds, and complete loss of blood of livestock. In fact, this discovery could be mistaken for the alligator, or the Elmendorf, which have the characteristics of a chupacabra description.…
We have all heard the stories of the Chpacabra over the last few decades and many of you will dismiss this creature as an urban legend or a hoax. These stories, like all stories of legend, start somewhere. The legend of the Chupacabra comes from Latin cultures, mainly Puerto Rico, where it was first sited back in 1955 by locals. The locals were experiencing strange live stock mutilations mostly goats found with all their blood drained. In the 1970’s people all over South America started experiencing this same vampiric style killings of their live stalk and people began to see the creature in these areas.…
Some also have amplifier hosts, which is where the reservoir hosts transmits its pathogen to another animal, which can then transfer it to humans. Throughout the book, the author includes his own personal field experiences, like gorilla hunting in the Congo and netting bats in China. He tries to answer why these diseases arise when and where they do. The big question is when will the Next Big One emerge and “spillover” into humans.…
Given fully functional wings, what animal wouldn’t prefer to fly? The lesser short-tailed bat (Mystacina tuberculata), as it turns out. The resident of New Zealand proves to be one of only two bats in the world that is just as comfortable scampering on the ground as it is soaring through the sky. How did it pick up this trick?…
I believe that Nagel 's primary conclusion in “What is it like to be a bat?” is that while there are multiple different forms of consciousness, humans cannot be sure of the presence of consciousness in lesser forms of animals, such as a bat. The “what it is like” for Nagel is reworded as being subjective character. The bat has subjective character, which is experience. Even though we know that bats hang upside down, have webbed arms and feet, and use echolocation, we will never truly know what it is like to be a bat. While we can all have thoughts on what it is like to be a bat, Nagel states that because everything has its own interpretation of itself, there is no way we can add specific information into our minds to actually see what it is…
As explained in The Gale Encyclopedia of Science, “Humans became infected only through the bite of a flea that has ingested blood from an infected rodent. Another route of transmission is through person-to-person contact. If a person’s lungs are infected with the bacteria, the disease can be transmitted easily to another person…
