This is why anglers take what they do so seriously. It is a big money sport if the fishers are good, they just have to have the resources to get into it. Most of the income angler’s get is from sponsors. It’s more or less a job where they actually get a steady income. It doesn't pay as much as big tournaments but it gives angler’s the money they need to get by. When an angler becomes known by fishing good and placing first in tournaments, more people want to sponsor them to make their product look good. Even local amateur angler’s can get sponsored by smaller companies. It’s just like any other sport when someone looks at the factors. But even though sponsors come with money, most anglers want just be sponsored by anybody. Whoever they are sponsored by is the product they have to rely on to get the job done. Without them, professionals would be nowhere! The other great thing about being a professional angler is that they get to do a lot of traveling. Anglers get to go all over the country to fish tournament trails such as the elite series or the FLW tour. They go all the way from the East coast to the West coast. They get to fish some of the best Lakes in the country such as Toledo Bend in Texas, Lake Okeechobee in Florida, or even Kentucky Lake which is in Tennessee and Kentucky! It’s one thing if fishermen fish one spot or one lake their whole life. That’s where they always go but these professionals get to be somewhere different every single week. Not to mention the fact, that they are getting paid to do it! That is a lot of people’s dream job for sure! But the difference for these guys is that it’s not a hobby or a weekend activity, it is a lifestyle. Most importantly is the fact that they are making a living, doing their favorite thing to do, which is to fish. People could sit around all day and argue about what they think is the best job or career to have in life, but there isn’t an accurate answer to that question. The best career or job to have in life, is the one that you enjoy and love, no matter what it is!
