Adams claims that Noyola’s actions were one hundred percent self defense and it just ended with a tragedy. On May 2nd 2014, Noyola was charged and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail for first-degree murder. This charge was added after David Rogers testified that he was struck by the bat as he tried wrestling it away from Noyola. Adam’s asked is Noyola would be realsed on bail, saying that he would voluntarily surrendered himself when charges were upgraded to frist degree murder and that he had no past criminal history. The District Attorney’s office asked the judge to deny the request, citing state statutes on past first degree murder cases that do not allow for bond. As the case, continued to develop, detectives came to realize that Rogers was the only witness that the prosecution called during the preliminary hearing. According to Rogers, Betancur was fighting with another man when Noyola ran up “crow-hopped” and swung the bat. And for those that may not know, “crow-hopping” was a way to add momentum to the swinging of the bat. Betancur was struck with the bat near his right temple. When the court date was set, about three dozen people from the complex wearing shirts that said “Justice 4 Ricky” swarmed the courthouse. Family of Betancur said “they plan to be at every court hearing to make sure justice is serviced in Ricky’s case and to make sure that Ricky is represent and

Trial Write-Up For the trial I was a lawyer for the Crown and did the cross-examination of Bobbie Bann and the closing statements. Our group’s goal was to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Bobbie Bann knew he was shooting Fallon King. We focused in on a few different areas, what possible motives Mr. Bann would have and the different holes in the story Bobbie Bann presented to the court. Looking first as the noise he woke up to, it was only the weathervane scratching against the roof, a noise he should’ve recognized as it happened often.…

Softball is basically my life almost every day i'm practicing some how if it's at actual practice with my travel team or running plays through my head every night and thinking about how i can improve myself. When anyone comes and talks to me about games or anything to do with softball I immediately lose my train of thought and become engaged in the conversation and can go on for hours and feel like I've only talked for a few minutes. Softball is something I turn to when I'm mad, sad, or happy no matter what kind of day I've had going to practice or a game just makes it feel like there's nothing else in the world. As soon as I step onto the field the rest of the world just disappears and doesn't exist and the only thing that matters is what's inside the fields fence.…

At the time, I didn't see what was going to unfold, but I had a bad feeling about what was to come.…
