The second quality model introduced by Barry W. Boehm who attempts to overcome the problems of McCall’s model(1st model). It presents a hierarchical structure for high level, intermediate level and primitive characteristics. Intermediate and primitive characteristics resemble McCall’s quality model which gives its contribution to the total quality of the system. This model assists to predict the defects and indicates towards the properties which have been violated in order to create defects. (IJE) Dromy’s model expands the ISO 9126: 1991 by adding two high-level quality characteristics to present a framework for evaluating the quality of software products. Therefore, this model comprehends eight high-level characteristics. Such characteristics are submerged into three quality models including requirement quality model,design quality model and implementation quality model (Dromey, 1996). According to Behkamal et al. (2009), the main idea behind Dromey’s model points at formulating a quality model that is broad enough for different systems and in assessing the relationships between characteristics and sub-characteristics of software product quality. The CoQ model that has been selected to be applied must be suitable to the situation, the environment, the purpose and the needs of the company so it can be a successful systematic tool in quality management program. Any solemn attempt to make advancements in the quality must consider the costs that are going to be afforded in acquiring quality as the purpose of persistent development programs is not just to meet customer requirements, but also to perform it at the lowest possible cost. This process of improvement can only be done by minimizing the costs required to attain quality, and the lessening of these costs can only be achieved when these are located and
