Flemish Baroque art was prevalent from 1600AD to 1640AD. Much of the art was paid for by the church and monarchs, and much of what they paid for were Religious work of art that leaned toward the Catholic Church. The florid style was used express the qualities of sensuality. As Flanders had its religious rule, some art was not all religious which is seen in Dutch Baroque art.
Holland had it own Dutch Baroque, which under this category, had some of the greatest pieces of art. It was from 1610AD to 1670AD that Dutch Baroque art flourished. The people kept the art alive by being patrons of art which mostly consisted of portraits, still life, and landscapes. Using the style virtuoso, artists developed visual accuracy as well as the proper manipulation of light. The Dutch took what Italy started and mastered it which enlightened the English.
The English Baroque welcomed some of its own artists. Before its heyday from 1720AD-1790AD English art was lacking style and interest. If it were not for the upper class, their money would never have gone to such dramatic painting of the Aristocracy. Using a restrained style English artists like Hogarth, Gainsborough, and Reynolds were able to weave elegance into their art.
