The reasons that many people challenged this book are for religion, the use of time travel accused of being a form of witchcraft, and last of all because of the use of profanity.

The intended audience of the article is all readers from young adults to senior citizens. I found the article helpful because it solidified my opinion that the book shouldn't be banned. Educators teach about the 1930’s and students learn about it, and those books aren’t banned, and they teach similar things, but word them in a more pleasant way. Students read many books in school regarding the time period of the 1930’s, but To Kill A Mockingbird isn’t okay for children to read because of the language, which again has many resolutions. It is a very informative book about the conditions of the 1930’s, and how bad racism really was, compared to now. This book can show the people of this century what discrimination really was, and give them a perspective on how bad conditions truly were, so why is it still being banned? Kids don’t notice the history and the insight that they can get from this book, and they are more concerned with the fact that the book has unpleasant topics.…

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is an example of a banned book due to racism. This is considered as a racist book because it’s said that Mark Twain uses the “N” word and this is considered a controversial word in the English language. Also some other books are banned because of this same cause because they show “white superiority” according to them. I believe some books that contain racist remarks, are not meant in any bad way, but people might get offended. But I believe that overall they are books that show a little bit of history, such as how people were before.…

It becomes a very ironic situation because many of the schools who get rid of the book or “ban” or “censor” it are not allowed to call it such things! By censoring a piece of american history is lying to american people and american children about our nation's history. Unfortunately, racial tension will always be apart of our society and we are better off teaching youths about it at a young age. If we keep our…
