Balanced Chemical Reaction Analysis

It was like any day before an exam, I was up in my room, laying down on my couch, practicing questions from my textbook. I had gone to the end of the chapter, trying to find a challenging question to attempt. The question I ended up picking required me to find a balanced chemical reaction equation, but only provided me with how much of each reactant and one product was present, as well as how much present by mass of each element in the given reactants and product there were. Upon beginning, I knew what I had to do and after some time, I had finally found been able to determine the formula for the two reactants and one product. This, however, did not satisfy the question.
I still had one more product to solve for, which had no additional information

Henderson’s PCO2 is elevated. Under normal conditions, what would be the PRIMARY mechanism that his body would use to reduce the amount of PCO2 in the blood? Why is this mechanism not working in this case? Primary mechanism Mr. Henderson should use to reduce the amount of pCO2 in his blood would be to take fast deep breathes. In his case this would prove to be difficult due to the strain from the hemothorax on his respiratory system .…

Introduction The goal of this experiment was to determine atomic weight of Kandimonium and the relative number of M&M’s in Kandimonium. Kandimonim is composed of three isotopes: Skittles, M&M’s, and Sweet Tarts, and the ratio of Sweet Tarts to Skittles is 27:18. The relative number of M&M’s and the atomic mass were determined by weighing each of the different Isotopes and calculating their average masses for further calculations.…

The purpose of this lab was to understand the Law of Conservation of Mass and how it works, using half of an Alka-Seltzer tablet, concealed in a water to fill the container, while a balloon sealed the top to keep it a closed system. The hypothesis was, if the Alka-Seltzer chemical reaction is a closed system, then the mass of the products will equal the reactants. The data did not support the hypothesis because the products were almost always a different mass to the reactants but only the last trial revealed that the mass of the reactants was equal to the products. Usually, the trials indicated a loss of mass until the third trial was done, which was a success. Since the experiment was a closed system, matter could not leave or enter.…

    1. a. My data demonstrated the law of conservation of mass in part 5 of the experiment, dissolving sugar in water. The law of conservation mass states that matter cannot be created or destroyed by can enter or leave the system. The system’s change in mass was 0.00 grams, resulting in support of this statement.…

The Law of Conservation of Mass states that in any given chemical equation, the total mass of the reactants equals the total mass of the products. During a chemical reaction, the atoms/ions of the reactants are rearranged to form new products. Thus, chemical equations must always be balanced, with the same kinds and numbers of atoms/ions and mass on both sides of the arrow, meaning that the combined mass of the sodium hydroxide and carbonic acid, and the combined mass of the…

In this lab, we carried out a variety of reactions using different chemicals and metals. A chemical reaction is when the chemical state of the substance you are testing rearranges its ionic and molecular structure. One of the reactions we experienced was single replacement, this consists of one ion switching places with another ion to form a new compound. Another reaction we saw was double replacement. In this reaction, two compounds ions are switched to form two new compounds.…

In a chemical equation, there are the reactants, which is the part that is changed, and the products, which is what is left over. The reactant side and the product side must have the same quantity of each element. If they do not, the equation must be balanced by using coefficients. Mole ratios can be found by using these coefficients. Mole ratios are conversion factors and can be used to found the amounts of the reactants and the products in a chemical reaction.…

For example at station one, barium chloride reacted with silver nitrate yielding to barium nitrate and silver chloride. Barium nitrate is aqueous because all nitrates are soluble. Silver chloride is the precipitate because all chlorides expect silver and a few others are soluble, since silver is an exception silver chloride is insoluble. To determine which reactant out of the chemical reactions the solubility rules provided the guideline necessary to figure out which reactant is the precipitate. The reactions in this equation were all of the same type of chemical reaction.…
