A Little Moisture: Fight With Baking Soda

If you just recently noticed that your carpet is smelling a little funky and feeling a little damp, you can fight the dampness and prevent future mold growth with baking soda. Baking soda will remove the excess moisture that is contributing to the mold growth, and it should neutralize any odors.

Lightly sprinkle a layer of baking soda over the area of your carpet that feels damps where you think mold may be growing. Let the baking soda sit on your carpet for twelve to twenty-four hours, then vacuum it up.
