Baby monitors were one the first pieces of technical equipment that was designed to give the parents piece of mind after they have put their baby to sleep for the night. Parents biggest fear with new born babies is the fear of SIDS ( Sudden Infant Deat Syndrome ) which is when a baby stops breathing. Baby Monitors monitor the breathing of the baby and when there is a proble it sends a signal and an alarm is sound alerting the parent. This is particularly useful if the parents are also sleeping at the time.
