BUFR Case Study

The focus is in the concept of digitalization. This thesis is about designing an enterprise architecture for handling substitutes in the Børne og Ungdomsforvaltningen Rengøringssektionen (BUFR - Copenhagen Municipality’s Cleaning Section). The traditional paper based system needs to be more efficient and thus the company visualizes the need of a digital system that fits to their business strategy and needs. The thesis aims to design an automation of work processes in the BUFR.

By utilizing the concept of MUST method the project was undertaken through different four phases. Each phases have contributed with unique conclusion to following phase to start with. Data were collected in close observation of work-process and interviews with the stakeholders

Computer Science Part:
In this section The questionsresearch would be mainly focused into the software architectural design part of the intended IT system.
1. Which technology and platform is suitable for designing the solution?
2. How to design the system architecture?

1.3 Chapter Summary
The chapter introduced the concept and background of the project. The problem statement and the related working questions are listed out, which direct the overall project.
Thesis has two main sections. The first section is about requirement specification and vision development, where the four principles of the Participatory Design Method (MUST) was used for initializing, data gathering and vision developing for future system. Similarly, in second section the Software System Architecture Method was used for modeling the architecture of intended system using different Architectural Viewpoints and

As my experience at the time of analyzing different stakeholders, I found that the top management of the company was fully positive and they were eager to find the new IT solution for their company since they are fully aware of the need of such system. And the other positive stakeholders are the cleaners who use the system in future. They are positive towards this project because they are the one who are experiencing difficulties in traditional
