Many people believe that no love is like a mother's love. No one can love a child more than its mother. In the short story “Average Waves in Unprotected Waters” a mother has a son with a disability, and it becomes difficult to take care of him because of the way he sometimes acts. This mother cannot find someone to watch him. She was once married but her husband later left her and she had to take care of her son on her own. The living conditions were not very good and it was hard for this mother to make life possible. Many other parents would say she was wrong for giving her child up; but others would agree that it can sometimes be difficult to raise a child with a disability, and she was doing what was best for herself and what was best for him. …show more content…
Losing your child is one of the hardest things for a parent, especially for a woman. The fact that this mother walked into this place to drop her son off, she saw that the condition that the place was in, she saw that the hospital was not child friendly and that the woman she spoke to did not seem interested in talking to the mother and she did not really care for the child's well being. As a mother you should not want to leave your child with someone who does not seem trustworthy.with this said if a child had an understanding he would feel unloved. This mother obviously cared about her son and took care of him to the best of her ability, but her not being around could affect him. The people that would be taking care of him would not do as well and have as much compassion as a mother would. Not being able to provide for her son was difficult and she felt as if he need a better life. When she was working she had a neighbor who would watch him, but he then became too much for her and he was too much for his mother so she made the choice she thought was
