Why is the audience analysis the most important part of the writing process?
Knowing your audience lets you refine the subject matter so it meets the readers needs. Therefore, not understanding what type of audience you are writing to, will affect the outcome causing the goal not to be achieved. Understanding your audience is very crucial and is the first step towards achieving a successful outcome. Before you start to write make sure to define your audience for example, what is the knowledge level of the audience? The client should show his customers level of expertise. Interview your target readers, determine their strengths and weaknesses. Background- knowledge, experience and training;
• For example, how small the segment of the audience and one of the most important concerns is just how much knowledge, experience, and training that you will be expecting from every stage of reader.
Needs and Interests;
• You need to know your audience and what your audience is going to expect from the document. What will the readers want to do with the document and what will they demand from it?
More than once audience;
• For example, in Most cases a report is made when there is more than once audience that fits into only one category. It may also be viewed by “Executives”
