The manner in which the female gender is perceived in the society differs significantly with that of the male gender. In particular, the society is depicted as being despondent with the female gender outpacing their male counterparts. Although the #DriveProgress Audi Advert alludes to doing things differently, the truth is that there is a fanatical representation of the male gender as being superior in the advert than they intended as will be elucidated in the coming sections.

For instance, the father ponders the current narrative and then decides to create a new narrative while his daughter follows the direction paved by the father. In the advert, the father is passive in that he does not try to influence other males while the daughter takes an active stance to venture into a field that was initially left for males. Apparently, the dominant characters in the advert are the males, yet the girl has been on the screen more than the former. The aspect of sexism is evident in that the father has to decide whether to tell the girl that she is lesser or equal to the males, which alludes to females being weak and of less value than males. Similarly, the aspect of oppression is evident at the beginning of the race and during the race as the males try to tip the girl in order to emerge victorious. Thus the sexual object in the advert is the girl since she is perceived as less of a person than the males, although the group does not make jokes about the girl. The audience identifies with the girl as an emerging racer because she conquers and outsmarts the males.
