November 3 2015 The creation of the Atomic Bomb put an end to World War II, and was considered a great thing because the Americans had a victory over Japan. It also led to a variety of changes in the lives of many Americans that could be considered bad or good depending on an individual’s personal opinion. What happened in Trinity? The assigned reading, Trinity a Graphic History of the First Atomic Bomb, was about the preparation, the planning, and the reason for developing the first two Atomic bombs in the world. The planning of the Atomic Bomb took place when two scientists, named Leo Szilard and Eugene …show more content…
After conversing with, President Roosevelt he backed their plan up one hundred percent and put forth the planning of the three committees. The three committees included: The Uranium Committee, The S-1 Project Committee, and The MAUD Committee. The duties of the committees would include handling the different processes of making the nuclear weapon possible. The creation of the Atomic Bomb was known as, the Manhattan Project. The Manhattan Project was a top secret mission that only the scientists working to produce the bomb, the military, and the president knew about. The leader of the Manhattan Project was, General Leslie Grove, and the head scientist of the project, was J. Robert Oppenheimer. General Leslie Grove ordered that there should be top secret places constructed for the production and brainstorming of the Atomic bomb including: The University of Chicago, The University of California, Oakridge Tennessee, and Hanford, Washington. The main place of operation for the first two Atomic bombs was in Los Alamos, Mexico. The first test, the Trinity, also took place in Los Alamos as well. The Atomic bombs were used with the intent of ending World War II by making the Japanese
