Atlanta's Vacations

Improved Essays
Experiencing new destinations awakens my senses, making me crave the adventure of each place I set out to explore. My biggest ambition in life is to travel to new destinations I have never been, but I must have my husband by my side to savor the adventure together. Over the years my husband and I have taken a copious amount of vacations, with San Francisco, California, and Atlanta, Georgia, being the two comparably large metropolitan cities we have been. They both offer historical points of interest that teach you interesting facts. For example, In Atlanta we learned about the history of Coca-Cola. While in San Francisco, we learned the history about Alcatraz prison. However I preferred learning about the history of Coca-Cola, rather than the …show more content…
When we visited Atlanta we purchased a City pass. The CityPASS included tickets to: The Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola Museum, Atlanta Zoo, College Football Hall of Fame and the Inside Cable News Network (CNN) Studio tour. Over the length of a three- day weekend, we were successful in experiencing all of those places. My favorite one being the Coca-Cola Museum. It was the second day of our vacation when we visited the World of Coca-Cola Museum. While we were waiting to enter the museum an employee told us some facts about the museum, and preformed a card trick. Upon entering, the first thing that caught my attention was an art display of sizeable coke bottles. They had scenes painted on them, showing the different countries around the world. I treasured the tasting room at the Coca-Cola Museum, because of all the different flavored sodas I have never tried. In the tasting room there were stations for each country. The different stations of Coke’s were from: Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and North America. Each station having their own uniquely flavored Coke from that region. I remember trying one named The Beverly, and it tasted so bitter. The Beverly was bitter because it was a grapefruit flavored soda. I also remember trying several fruit infused sodas like; strawberry, grape, guava, pineapple, apple, cherry, vanilla, …show more content…
However Atlanta had the best American style restaurants we experienced, making Atlanta our favorite of the two cities when it came to barbeque. When we took our trip to Atlanta there was one American styled restaurant that trumped the others. It was a bar called, Park Bar. First thing I noticed when we looked at their menu was what they call; build your own burger. This means you create the burger of your dreams, and with any toppings they had available. It is a genius concept, because you get exactly what you want. With the build your own burger, you first chose the type of patty you wanted. They had; beef, bison, ahi tuna, turkey, chicken and veggie. Second you would choose if you wanted cheese and what type. Then you picked your toppings. They offered; Onions, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, jalapeño, avocado, bacon and a fried egg. I remember they also had some sauces you could add. I chose the bison patty with no cheese, and added; lettuce, tomato, onions, jalapeño, bacon and avocado. The burger came with a side, so I ordered tater tots. I also wanted to have a beer to accompany my meal, and when I saw an alcoholic root beer, I knew I wanted to taste it. I have never tried an alcoholic root beer, but I do enjoy root beer, so that’s why I picked it. When I drank the beer, to my surprise it tasted just like a root beer soda. I did not expect it

Whenever someone travels to a new location they may not realize how much history truly lies before them. Some students including myself would actually enjoy learning about the place they visit by taking a city tour and actually seeing all these sights instead of reading about it from a textbook in a boring classroom. For example, when I went on a family vacation a couple of years ago I learned more information about the beautiful city of Puerto Vallarta than I would have ever learned in a classroom. The information that I obtained from the trip varied from how the city was built all those years ago to how much the people of the city truly do respect…

The product placement in Jurassic World certainly serves its purpose as it exposes the audience to the many brand names and merchandise. The particularly clever product placements leave a far more permanent and positive attitude in the audience’s mind about their brand as they are not just simply trying to capture attention in the background, but rather showing the audience the product’s use and enjoyment through the characters of the movie. One such effective product placement is when Chris Pratt takes a nice, big, refreshing gulp of Coca-Cola. As he gulps down the soda, I couldn't help but want to taste one for myself at that very moment. This placement may have been particularly effective as some of the iconic items that are associated with the movie going experience are popcorn and a large soda.…

There are different types of traveling. We travel for vacationing and sight seeing, we travel because we want to get away from our daily routine, we travel to see our loved ones, to escape cold weather, to escape war and tyrant rulers, to look for a better life. Bedouin in the desert travel looking for water to sustain themselves and their livestock. I have moved away from eating red meat, so my burger is more of a chicken philly. Growing up I never even heard of a chicken-philly, in New Mexico, because we eat a Spanish/Mexican style of cuisine. We ate spicy variations of chicken and beef, as burritos or enchiladas, and not your traditional American grill food. Since, I have lived on the East-Coast for over twenty years, I have become accustom too many different style of food. For example, Southern, Cuban, New York Pizza, Chicago Pizza, and Philadelphia, are many of those types of cuisine that I have enjoyed.…

La Vida Local was the article I chose to read about. The story explained how a family escapes Manhattan Costa Rica and discovers the joy of simple ways; this really caught my attention because I agree that if you’re a true passionate traveler you see more than just getting away for the luxury and the parties. Travel is all about experiencing other cultures and learning how to live differently. I am passionate about travel and want to eventually escape the robotic life style we live today. Every day is basically the same, you know you’re going to get up, go to work or school for the majority of the day and repeat day after day.…

Therefore, we should be proactive in protecting our niche, so that we can have a much healthier environment to live and to improve our overall health and wellbeing. However, my Good Stuff Challenge list for Atlanta that I feel would be beneficial to the environment if something is done to address it would be: Appliances, cars, cleaning products, electricity, furniture, housing, lighting, paint & varnishes, and personal care. I chose these 10 items because of the impact they have on the environment and the disparities confronting a growing Atlanta. Because of the infrastructure…
