In other words, “risk factors for atherosclerosis include factors that raise blood cholesterol levels.” (Johnson, 2014, p. 199).These risk factors are better explained by sociology. Culture can be defined as the total ways of a particular group defined by their cuisine and social habits (Gibert, Selikow & Walker, 2009, pp. 76-77).In applying this definition you can apply it to the risk factors for atherosclerosis. A sedentary lifestyle is one of the risk factors; people in a particular culture might lead lifestyles that fit into the sedentary lifestyle criteria as they are following certain social habits that are normal for that culture. These people are more at risk for high levels of cholesterol in their blood.
