The Assistant Director is responsible for the supervision and management of Kay’s Childcare Center in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans. The principal duties of the assistant director include to assist and support the Director with the overall Preschool management to promote the development of each child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development in a safe, nurturing environment and be ready to assume the Director's responsibilities in the Director's absence.

Description of Duties:

Be a team player who establishes positive, respectful and professional relationships with children, parents/families, colleagues, and the child care community.
Support and uphold Kay’s Childcare Center policies and philosophy to parents/families,

Assist the Director in any area needed such as Financial, Health & Safety, and Marketing.
Job Requirements

Education and Experience

The preferred education required to work as an assistant director of a day care center is a related degree (Masters, Bachelors, or Associates) in Early Childhood. A candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience working in a day care facility and be 21 years old. They must meet all Federal and State requirements.

Personal Qualities

The Assistant Director is expected to model professional work ethic by reporting to work on time and maintaining consistent attendance. If they need to be absent they must arrange and communicate the absence in advance. He or she needs to demonstrate flexibility with the work schedules and assignments as needed to meet the needs of the center. They must be able to open or close the center on a daily basis. The Assistant Director must follow state, federal and Kay’s Childcare Center guidelines including immunizations, employment physical and required safety and health training and refrain from being under the influence of any legal or illegal substances that may impair judgment, alertness or
