Assignment On Tracking Time

Improved Essays
After completing this assignment on tracking time spent on activities I have learned the areas that the majority of my time goes to. The largest portions of my time are spent on school, socializing, and sleep. Everyday I contribute hours to attending classes and then later doing homework for those classes. Throughout the day I tend to be quite gregarious without even realizing it. I will walk down the hall of my dorm and see a friend and end up talking to her for almost half an hour. Typically, what should be a fifteen-minute lunch will transform into an hour lunch, because of chatting away with friends. Also, incorporated into my sociable activities is the amount of time I spend texting, talking on the phone, or talking on Skype. The next

Many times there were topics where my small group would engage in a fascinating discussion that would take longer than the time we had. But other times, there were topics when we would finish twenty minutes early. While we would fill the time with talking, I found that the small chit chat is not nearly as powerful as filling the room with discussion of the topic, which always forces us to open up and be honest. I would combat this by planning a list of discussion questions, to make sure we will always have an engaging…

Reflection Over that three assignments above and the other assignments we have done over this quarter I have noticed a way of think and formating I do when starting a assignment. When starting an assignment I don't start or finish things in order I'll do the main requirements for what goes where and create how ever many pages it needs then I’ll Start the assignment in the middle where I'm doing the main most important part first. For example this project I started with the hard moments essay instead of a title screen just to get it out of the way. I've noticed I don't talk much in class, even though I used to always get in trouble in language arts and reading for talking because I hated those classes, but not speaking much in class doesn't mean I don't contribute to class. I think I contribute a good amount I volunteer for questions (Sometimes).…

How could we possibly have homework everyday until Christmas Break because we can have stress, have to do a lot of chores, and doing hard work all week. Most important chores, if you have a lot of chores to do it can waste a lot of time, until you do your homework. If you have to organize the hole house it can take hours until you do you homework. If you go to the store to buy your mom specific type of food it can take probably take you 50 mins or an hour until you find that specific type of food. If you have to do clean the back yard and take out the trash that can cause time so you wouldn’t have enough time to do your homework sometimes.…

According to the the SAPA Project Emotional Assessment/Personality Test, my ‘Honesty’ score was 6 out of 9, ‘Conscientiousness’ was 6 out of 9, ‘Orderliness’ score was 6 out of 9 and ‘Industriousness’ score was 6 out of 9. These were my highest scores, however, I would not say that I think they are my greatest personality strengths. My ‘Compassion’ score was 5 out of 9 and I would have expected it to be my highest score.…

After taking the where is your time inventory, It gets kind of confuse and interesting to see how much time I spend outside my family. By virtue of being in the military my day is longer than the average person. The survey does not show a starting or ending point of the normal day, my day starts at 4am and ends normally by 11pm. My result of time was around 24 ½ hours. I agree with the concept noted in our textbook, “time appears is as precious commodity there never seems to be enough” (Beebe & Mottet, 2013, p. 383).…

We - as civilization - are shaped by our interactions with people. Some people have an engaged personality; generally bold or active. Other people tend to have a shy or introverted personality, preferring to be engaged in a small group of friends and stray from large groups. I am both partially introverted and extroverted, but prefer the latter. Reading is such a major part of my life; from the time I could comprehend the written word, I had always turned towards book.…

Productivity A common trait among highly successful people is taking action, so be productive! Being busy doesn’t translate to productivity as we are always engaged in one activity or the other at every point in our lives-it could be sitting, working, breathing, eating, cooking, sleeping, chatting, etc. Rather than focusing on just any action, outcomes matter the most. When you care about the results of your actions, the zeal to get the most of that activity is unwavering.…

Different career assessments such as the MYERS BRIGGS, True Colors, Values Game, Eureka as well as Strength Quest revealed unique qualities that I often times overlook in my persona. These different assessments contributed to a deeper understanding of my skills and personality. In what follows, I discuss my reactions to the different career assessments that were presented during our class.…

Every morning when I wake up, the first thing I do is, I look at my cellphone to turn off the sirens going off on my alarm. I spend about 10 minutes on my phone viewing any notifications, messages, and timelines on my social media. Once I notice the time on my phone I quickly start to get ready for the day. While getting ready I listen to music on my phone and keep an eye on the time to make sure that I am not running late. Throughout the day I consistently check my email, both personal and school, to keep up to date with my everyday life.…

The Value of Good Time Management Skills Some aspects of life cannot be classified with a numerical rate, such as the value of good time management skills. Although this is true, most would agree that being able to manage time is a dynamic skill and extremely important. As stated by Ronald G. Leach (1980), “There is no such thing as lack of time. In a real sense we all have time for those things we want to make time for.…

Several studies show that the most valuable and important time commitment in a course was the time actually spent in the classroom.(Schiming) Some other valuable and important time commitments included the time spent in discussion sections that complemented the lectures, and the time spent studying outside of class preparing for the class itself.(Schiming) That study concluded that the most productive time spent in any course was in the classroom; and that time had the greatest positive impact on the students’ performance. Another study of similar motives was taken on the most significant activities the impacted the students’ performance in any given course. The results of that study showed the idea that the most important learning takes place in the classroom and that students who do a conscientious job on a daily basis preparing for and participating in class perform better than students who skip class and try to cram for exams.(Schiming)…
