The difference however is that Windows OS is capable of downloading programs from the internet as well as the store e.g Microsoft Office. To use applications on Linux, you must download the correct libraries and then extract the contents via the terminal e.g Firefox. The only apps that are available for Mac OS is either in the Apple Store or is preinstalled on the OS e.g Notes.
User Type Windows, Linux and Mac are all single user multi-task operating systems because only 1 user can use them at any one time but they allow the user to run multiple programs.
