Assessment has been used as a tool for assessing learning in our schools for many years. It is an approach that has been used as a means of reporting students’ progress to parents. It must be noted that only certain things can be professionally assessed in schools. The expectation of many people regarding school assessment is an examination that tests a student’s ability to recall information(P. Barnes, Wright, & Brandom, 2008). The ability to recall information in this situation does not always reflect student understanding or learning in a particular subject area. • providing evidence of satisfactory achievement and completion in the Preliminary course
• providing the Higher School Certificate results.
