Governance is a general term which includes all aspects of the organization. It covers execution of policies and monitoring for the proper implementation of the strategies. The correction Department has seven services and groups headed by a Chief Executive Officer with over all responsibilities of the Department. Seven services including: prison services, community probation service rehabilitation and reintegration service, office of the Chief Executive, Finance system and infrastructure, strategy and policy planning and organizational development. Prison services operate 20prisons and manage approximately 8500 at any one time.
