When describing the origins of the universe two perspectives are often quoted. These perspectives are the natural perspective and the creation perspective. The natural perspective believes that evolution is responsible for the formation of the universe. This evolution took a vast amount of time. Therefore, the evolutionist believes the universe is billions of years old. Creationists, on the other hand, believe the age is far less, around six thousand. The creation perspective follows the account of the formation of all things as written in the Bible. The Word of God opens with the statement: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1) and continues thirty more verses describing the creation of all things. Special revelation is the revelation of God through the Bible and the person of Jesus Christ. This type of revelation accounts for one of two ways God reveals Himself to the World. The second way God reveals Himself is general revelation. In this kind of revelation, the glory of God appears through everything seen and through conscience.
