Locus of control has internal and external dimensions. A person’s values may determine to .’a great extent how well he performs. His immediate decisions and his life goals are influenced by his value systems. These values would be related to general expectancy of locus of control. Those who believe that chance, fate or luck determine the outcomes of events are described as having an expectancy of external control. Those who believe that the fate can be changed, by one’s efforts are described as having an expectancy of internal control.
