In hot, unsanitized areas the Ascaris worm infection is extremely common,more so in women than in men. In most cases, people with an Ascaris worm infection respond very well to medicine and no further medical treatment (besides routinely check-ups) is required (Mukhopadhyay). Surgical use is usually not required either, only in extreme is it even considered. Ultrasonography is the best most inexpensive way to find The Ascaris worms accurately (Mukhopadhyay).

Full grown adult Ascaris worms tend to be a cream or whitish color. Female worms are usually larger than the males. The females measure anywhere from 20-35 centimeters and the males are no larger than 30 centimeters (Adachi). This makes the Ascaris worm one of the largest intestinal worms in the world. Ascaris worms have a thick cuticle , 3 lips at its head and they also have small teeth and their own digestive tract (Adachi). He had reportedly had these symptoms for around 2 months. He reported that he had not had of symptoms like abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or gastrointestinal bleeding (Kanneganti). All of these symptoms can easily be caused by an Ascaris worm. He also denied having any of these symptoms in the past, or any of his family members ever having any of these symptoms (Kanneganti). Case study 4-personal history Kanneganti writes on how the man reported to being a smoker and social alcohol use (Kanneganti). The man also denied any kind of allergy to medicine. He had traveled to South Carolina several times recently and all bodily statics, such as temperature, blood pressure and pulse rate, were normal (Kanneganti). A quick physical exam of the man showed no signs of Ascaris
