Umberto Boccioni

During your lifetime there is always a chance for you to be inspired by someone. Someone who is true to their self , their peers and their work. Umberto Boccioni happens to be an all-time favorite and an all-time source for inspiration , motivation ,and encouragement. Umberto Boccioni was born in Reggio Calabria which happens to be the southern part of Italy , On October 19, 1882. He was born to the mother of Cecilia Forlani and the father of Raffaela Boccioni . His parents had originated from the Romagna region, further north. He only had one sibling and that was an older sister named Amelia .

While in Rome he became friends with an Italian painter Gino Severini (1883-1966).Boccioni also spent some time in Paris and Venice before moving to Milan. There he met the artists Romolo Romani and Gaetano Previati who introduced him to somewhat a different world. Boccioni was a painter for much of his short career. While on one of his trips to Paris, he was apprehended with the idea of infusing sculpture with the modernity of Futurism. In 1912 he published his Futurist Painting Sculpture: Plastic Dynamism (Pittura scultura Futuriste: Dinamismo Plastico), and then the next year (1913) he revealed his masterpiece Unique Forms of Continuity in Space.
