Have you ever wondered why the Army calls itself a profession? Let’s think about that for a minute. The Army calls itself a Profession stated in the student handout (2010) “earn the trust of their clients through their ethics which is their means of motivation and self-control” (p.2). The Human Resource Sergeant plays a role in supporting the Army’s culture. The Army Profession relies on trust. Trust is the firm belief in the reliability or strength of someone or something. The American people place its trust in the Army by granting substantial independence for us to create our own expert knowledge and to police up the requests of information by individual experts. In the next couple of paragraphs we will be discussing the importance of, The Balancing Role of Profession’s Leaders, The Army Professional Culture and The HR Sergeant’s role in the Army Profession

This is the main reason balancing the roles of leaders is important. Depending on how well those relationships align between the Chain of Command and Soldiers will influence the mindsets of Army Professionals. What cannot be understood means it’s unable to change, that is how the Army Professional Culture transpire? If an individual in the profession cannot comprehend what is wrong with an organization how can he fix anything? The Army Culture bases itself on how we do things. The student handout (2010) state “Army culture is the system of shared meaning held by its Soldiers, “the shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterize the larger institution over time.” (p.9) an organization’s values and beliefs generally replicates what it finds to be functionally operational in times of strong need.     Although the book is admittedly brief, it makes its points concisely and effectively without being overly wordy or rambling. Much of the ideology that The Warrior Ethos discusses is familiar to Marines as it runs parallel to a large majority of training that Marines encountered throughout boot camp with emphasis put on honor and commitment to a cause, as well as courage in the face of hardships and death.
