Aria Grande Concert Review Paper

Excitement came through as we waited for September 26, 2015 to be near. A friend and I had bought tickets several months earlier for the Ariana Grande Concert at the Barclay Center, and it was the most anticipated event we had at that time. When we arrived at the location, there was an immediate thrill of excitement in the air. We waited in line with other individuals that were also planning on attending the concert, and we all heard the screaming and excited cries of other people near my friend and I. The way they were dressed would be the ideal “fangirl” definition, which is described as wearing comfortable clothing, or any type of clothing that would have the artist on their shirt, and it also included carrying very creative posters in hopes …show more content…
Her music can be described to be a mixture of R&B, funk, dance, hip-hop and pop. It is hard to classify her as just one genre when she is a mixture of all of them at once. It is said, that Mariah Carey is one of her music influences (Arian Grande Facts), which explains how she usually creates lyrics with such wide vocal ranges like Mariah Carey. Ariana is also known to have a “four-octave and semitone soprano vocal range” (Vocal Profile: Ariana Grande) voice and she can be described to have an up-tempo beat especially in the last song she performed at the stadium rock (Lesson 25) which is identified to be a concert series or in this case a tour of a concert series performed in large arenas like the Barkley Center. The song itself that is described to have an up-tempo would be Problem. The melody of this song is described to be a dance-pop and R&B sound, including instruments like trumpets, drums, and saxophone loops. The song itself is about liking another individual, but this particular individual is causing her problems, therefore it would be easier for her to forget him, or not like him at all, for it to be one less problem in her life. The song won “Best Pop Video” at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, and “Best Song” at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards, and can be described to be a “Heavy Rotation”, which is a type of music video that has been played at least four times in a day and this can be described for any popular song that has been over-played on the radio (Lesson

After six years of performing under the name Grimes, Claire Boucher is blasting into the stratosphere of mainstream pop; her intergalactic, out-of-this-world beats and softened sound made more palatable for radio on her fourth studio album, “Art Angels.” Trading her signature dream-pop with thudding, club beats and more confident sounding operatics, the genre-blending album covers a lot of ground in its 14 songs, and features more live instrumentation than ever before, including piano, guitar, and violin, all played by her. Boucher describes her style as ‘genre-less,’ blurring the lines between all styles of music. While she is broadening her sound, Scream, featuring a charismatic performance from underground Taiwanese rapper Aristophanes, verifies Grimes’ weird ethos remains unscathed.…

Music has been around for as many as 55,000 years. The egyptians, ancient greeks, romans and african slaves all had different forms of music. Much like today, we have several different types of music, country, rock, soft rock, gospel, jazz, pop, R&B but one the most controversial genres would be Hip-Hop and Rap along with urban black pop. Today, music is still pivotal. Music can personify people, give voice expressions to those who otherwise may not be heard.…

The eponymous US Billboard had transcended through time as one of the most credible music outfits to give us the hottest, trendiest and must-hear sounds and performances in the industry. It is safe to say that whatever it is that the Billboard is honoring, it’s definitely quite a humongous feat that all of us should pay attention to. Aside from the yearly recognition that the US Billboard is channeling to honor the cream of the crop and the tireless manner by which they categorize who we should be including on our playlists to, the outfit is also holding a so-called Women in Music event. Running on its 11th installment for this year, Billboard is into giving huge regards to the women who made it and will make it on the course of their careers, empowering more and more femme fatales to come out of their shells and show the world who they are as passionate singers. True enough, the industry requires women power to make the wheel spin and with many female performers dominating the scene, it’s quite righteous for them to have a specialized kind of awarding system.…

In the beginning, the listener is given a slow tempo, which allows every note being played, to be heard, but when the bridge of the song comes the tempo changes and notes are more staccato. The dynamics go from a mezzo-piano to fortissimo. Also, every so often you hear a big hit on percussion that builds up the intensity, leading to “Will you still love me…” in the chorus (LINE 10). All of these musical elements are what take the song up another level, from a simple and mediocre sound to this beautiful, haunting, and wonderful Lana Del Rey-esque sound that fans fall in love…

It was held at the Redpath Hall, a building located on McTavish street. The Redpath Hall was first dedicated for a library building, but is now taken charge by the Schulich School of Music. The Hall is very charming with its high selling that contains thick dark brown carved wodden beams that covers the intire ceiling and gives warmth to the room.…

The song that I have decided to analyze is Formation, by Beyonce. Beyonce is a worldwide sensation in the pop music industry as well as in feminist culture. Beyonce originally started out in a singing group called Destiny’s Child, where she first became well known; once the group split, Beyonce started her own musical career and has not looked back since. In 2008, eleven years after dating, Beyonce and rapper and music producer Jay-Z married. Three years later, Beyonce became pregnant with their daughter, Blue Ivy.…

Her most popular song on the album is “Someone like you”, which tells the story of her previous lover. Though she wants nothing but the best for her ex, she prays he remembers the good in the relationship. This soulful song lures in people with situations similar to hers, such as; having to move on from a break up when your heart doesn’t want to and staying strong in knowing it was a reason the relationship ended in the first place, so don’t look back. Though he has only been a household name in the United States for about four years, Ed Sheeran is now one of the most famous song artists internationally. His roots are in England, but Sheeran now travels the world to perform his popular music, which is a mix of pop, rock, and acoustic sounds. Ed Sheeran has brought many great songs into the light with his three major albums, titled after mathematical symbols. All the albums that have been released by Ed Sheeran are phenomenal, but his most recent collection ÷(Divide) is definitely his best album to date.
