To begin my arguments against the legalisation of performing enhancing drugs is the possibility, and maybe the most obvious argument of harm. Harm based arguments come from the idea that doping is harmful to the athletes who take part in it. Even though when an athlete takes part in doping it is under medical supervision, it is still possible that the drug could have side effects or long lasting consequences for the athlete. Forcing athletes into something that they do not want to take part in makes doping a bad practice. When forced into doping this can cause the athlete to lose his or her love for their sport which means if doping continues or becomes legal it will inevitably make all athletes lose their love for sport.
