The first post that pops up on the page is “please share if you’re a proud Texan who stands for life!” then attached is a link to an article titled abortion opponents urge Supreme court to uphold Texas law. The Republican party has reached out to multiple aged groups by creating their Facebook page and sharing many articles and openly showing their support for anti-abortion. Texas has been a “red” state for many years which means that Texas is a Republican state. According to the republican platform 2016 under the fifth amendment: page 13-14 protecting human life, the republican party states “we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed”. The democratic party believes in women’s reproductive rights. The democratic party is pro-choice and believes that the neither the state nor politics should be involved in the woman’s decision making, but they believe that the state should fund abortions so that low income families may seek safe abortions regardless of their ability to pay.
There is a third party in Texas that has views on abortion similar to mines. They are the Libertarian party in Texas. They believe that abortion is a woman’s choice and that government should not be involved in that decision. They also believe that the state should not pay for abortions.
Currently the 2016 Presidential election is in underway and early voting has officially begun in Texas as of 10-24-2016 the United States will soon have their forty-fifth President. The Candidates include Republican party Donald Trump, Democratic party Hilary Clinton, and third party Gary Johnson. Donald Trump is anti-abortion while Hilary Clinton and Gary Johnson are pro-choice. Many worry how the outcome of the election may affect the abortion laws in Texas. Both runners Hillary and Donald have used social media such as twitter to express their thoughts and with thousands of followers, likes, and retweets their opinion on the matter has been seen by many Texans and will greatly influence the
