There are logical answers from the scene that shows it was him. Even though some people might think the worker killed her, he didn't. The reason why I say this is because a good worker wouldn't leave his tools out especially if he had just killed someone because that would just leave traces of him behind. I recommend the police commissioner to do a lie detector test on both the worker and the husband just to make it clear even though the evidence clearly shows that the husband was the killer. I think the story started off like, Vanessa was cooking possibly for herself or her husband when she got back from getting a broiler. She then called a worker to come help her when the husband overheard and misinterpreted the conversation between the worker and Vanessa and saw the suitcase and figured she was leaving. This made him upset and he killed her after losing control in the kitchen.
