This option can be explored for many reasons. Primarily, adoption is explored when the mother isn’t confident with her ability to take care of the child, or knows that she will be unable to support it. Giving a baby for adoption is sometimes the best option for the child though. By giving the baby to an adoptive family, there are certain benefits to both parties. Families looking to adopt are background checked, and usually have to wait a long time to get a child, showing their commitment to the child. Some mothers choose to stay in traditional school until they are due, and then go on independent study while they have their baby. Others may choose to go to a continuation school.
