“Why are you wearing that” “Isn’t that a little too short” these statements and many more are phrases students hear everyday from their school administrators and teachers because of these horrible, out of date, dress codes. Dress codes are becoming more and more of a problem with the uprising society. While there should be a dress code so students look more professional and looking like they are going to work and not to bed, school dress codes are being sexist against females and discriminating girls through rape culture, discrimination, and body shaming.
They are promoting rape culture when it is stated that what women are wearing is distracting and lead boys on, and that is they didn’t dress like that they wouldn’t get sexually harassed …show more content…
They have less things they can wear, when men can where almost anything they want. This is because they make it seem as if women’s clothing are distracting men from work, but women are being taken from work because of their clothes which is making women get less hours of work which means less money.
