Having students well prepared for a career can prove to be successful for some, but is it really for the common good? The truth is, it may not be. Having individualized learning plans may not address all aspects of education, therefore leaving a gap for some students. Another drawback is all the time, money, and resources it may require to start up such programs to address individuality. As Source A mentions, several founders of the United States, including George Washington and Benjamin Franklin had no formal schooling. This notion is not to suggest that they were not educated; infact, quite the opposite. The Founding Father had been highly educated through real life experiences and interactions that proved to have outstanding results.The key to this success in this particular form of education was how these men learned specific to the career they sought to puruse. This concept is at the heart of reforming the standard school day, allowing students to learn specific to their particular field of interest. Many students waste hundreds of hours in classes and courses filled with useless information. For example, a senior in highschool intent on majoring in psychology, should not be forced to take plant science. Through the connection of these facts, it becomes apparent that an individualized learning plan is the most logical choice. In order to initiate such a form of education, the process should begin with highschool students who have a grasp on the career they would like to pursue. By allowing students to pinpoint a specific career field, they may then be able to enroll in courses that would prepare them for a career and allowing them to change as they discover their
