It has many harsh long lasting side effects that include depression, loss of appetite, fatigue, aches and nausea. Because of this many of the people that seek this treatment method aren’t able to physically finish the treatment plan because of all the negative side effects. A 2006 study in the European Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology found that 86% of patients using marijuana successfully completed their Hep C therapy, while only 29% of non-smokers completed their treatment, possibly because the marijuana helps lessens the treatment's side effects.The Department of Health and Human Services recently signed off on a proposal to study marijuana's potential as part of treatment for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder. Marijuana has been approved to treat PTSD in some states already. In New Mexico, PTSD is the number one reason for people to get a license for medical marijuana, but this is the first time the U.S. government has approved a proposal that incorporates smoked or vaporized marijuana, which is currently classified by the government as a drug with no accepted medical applications.
These are some huge positive effects that this “Wonder Drug” has. These claims are what has a lot of people for the use of medical marijuana. There are naturally people against the legalization of marijuana. They firmly believe marijuana is the gateway drug to all drugs and will lead you down a path of no return so to speak. People have been self medicating with marijuana for centuries. The legalization of marijuana would also be income for the state of Arkansas. Think of all the tax money this would roll in. Reality is we could argue back and forth on this topic
