The greatest hero of Greece,was Hercules. The Greeks are much different from the people of 2016, and they valued courage and strength the most, while forgiving him because of their respect for his good deeds. The Greeks valued courage because in their time a common way of living was “survival of the fittest”. When Hercules proved he was courageous and strong to the people by fighting off monsters, he was immediately respected. “Throughout his life Hercules had this perfect confidence that no matter who was against him he could never be defeated, and facts bore him out” (Hamilton 226). He even thought that he was on the same level as the gods which was showed when the gods needed his help to fight the Giants which boosted his courage even more.

We would reject these traits because when a high importance figure or someone of great popularity on the Internet (which Hercules would most likely be because of his abilities) it is extremely blown up by the Internet and people would largely criticize him. “His intellect was not strong. His emotions were” (Hamilton 226). It’s even said Hercules could never have thought of any good ideas like an Athenian hero could have. He even threatened the Gods by threatening their elements of power like when he said he’d shoot the sun or when he ordered an oracle to be use of him. , and didn’t respect them. He had many outbursts of anger, hurting innocent objects; his thinking is just limited to killing. An example is when a talented musician was playing but it annoyed Hercules so he killed the musician.In our time, everything is circulated through the Internet and everyone can know something happened in just a matter of time, turning a hero into someone everyone's afraid of. Another trait of his we would reject is his arrogance. People of 2016 like it when people are more humble and don’t act like they’re the center of the universe.
