In the United States, there have been fifty-four school shootings since 2015. That’s crazy to think about. However, not all ended in deaths. Why do people think about going to places and shooting it up? The three major school shootings that come to mind are Columbine High School, Sandy Hook Elementary, and Stoneman Douglas High School. Columbine High School massacre was on April 20, 1999. The perpetrators were Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Both were seniors at the high school. They killed 15 students and teacher. Then, later both committed suicide in the school’s library with the other victims. Sandy Hook’s shooting was on December 14th, 2012. The perpetrator was Adam Lanza who killed 28. He killed students, staff, his mother, and his self. His mother wanted him to get help and he didn’t want to, so he killed her and many …show more content…
I read an article titled “Should More Gun Control Laws Be Enacted?” by a website called Pro and Cons who explain the pros and cons of having gun control laws. One being gun control laws will prevent people to protect themselves. If gun control laws ban “assualt weapons” will infringe the right to own guns for hunting and some sports. Some say having background checks and micro-stamping is an invasion of privacy. Also, the second amendment was intended to protect gun ownership of anybody, so they can particpate in the military to keep peace and defend the nation.
