Have you ever thought if a criminal could be falsely? Perhaps not, you would think the judges or police would have good evidence to contradict the criminal. Well there's a law, guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, which means that the accused is the only logical person who could have done the crime even if hard evidence is lacking. On January 13, 1999 Hae Min Lee a senior at Woodlawn high school had disappeared. Right after school she was suppose to pick up her cousin, who was in kindergarten but never showed up. For example, when Hae and Adnan broke up aroudn early November, Hae had written him a letter to Adnan, ¨I´m really getting annoyed that this situation is going the way it is, you know people break up all the time .Your Life is not going to end. You'll move on on and i'll move on but apparently you don't respect me enough to accept my decisions.¨ Adnan had shown Aisz pittman, Hae´s beestfrien the note hae had given to him. On the back of the note she had writtensilly notes to Adnan back and forth but one thing she dosen´t remeber was that on top of the page it said ¨ I´m going to kill.¨On trial, when Asia had to read the note again but surely when she read it, she was shocked and confused of why that was there. She remembers clearly that the note was never there. Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, We, the Defense, would like to assert that the Prosecution unfoundedly charged the defendant, Beth White, for second degree manslaughter and negligence that created unreasonable risk that caused the death of Patti Collins. Even though her death was shocking and unfortunate, she was the cause of her own tragic death and that Ms. Beth White is not negligible for her death. It is not anybody’s fault that she died, but her own. We would like to declare to the jury that the defendant is innocent until proven guilty, and that it is the prosecution’s job to prove that our defendant is guilty. We are prepared to validate the obvious, plain facts, which are that the defendant was coerced to have the party in the first…

Adnan was a high school senior at Woodland high school in Baltimore Maryland when he gruesomely strangled his ex girlfriend Hae Min Lee to death. He claims to have not committed this unthinkable crime but has no proof supporting this. Adnan’s story states January 13th was just another normal day for him and he has no specific recollection of it other than he would have gone to track practice at 3:30. Even if someone did believe that Adnan was telling the truth, and went to track practice that day, which there is no evidence of, it still would not have given him an alibi for the critical 21 minutes in which Lee was murdered. Lee was murdered sometime between 2:15 and 2:36 and Adnan has no alibi for that time.…

Last night, OJ Simpson had what was at times an argumentative interview with Chris Meyers of ESPN in an attempt to help America understand his point of view of his trial for murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and her companion. OJ came across as not only defiant but pompous and insensitive. At one point, he was sacrilegious as he compared himself to Jesus and other biblical figures such as Moses and Job. He said he was a martyr just like Jesus as he elaborated on his troubled life. Not only did OJ show insensitivity regarding his slain wife and her family but also exemplified a lack of sensitivity by blaming the media for his problems.…

After reading all of the descriptions of JD8, his activities and looking at the pictures I can completely understand why the author of the website would be mad. Unfortunately, I can relate too well to this situation, given that I grew up in a very nice cookie-cutter neighborhood – except that there was this one old lady who loved to decorate the front yard of her house. By decorate I mean completely go all out for every single holiday… Holidays I didn’t even know existed. She would put multiple mini statues of Easter bunnies, several lighted up Easter eggs, and my personal favorite the huge Easter bunny costume she stuffed with plastic bags and made it stand up like a scarecrow.…

Adnan comes right out and tells us “I do remember being high at the time because the craziest thing is to be high and have the police call your phone. I will never forget that.” (Koenig, “The Case Against Adnan Syed”). Being able to remember this detail but not being able to recall anything us from the day can lead us to believe that he killed Hae on this day and he is trying to cover up for it by…

Certainly the jurors thought it was a crime of passion, although the judge did not think it was not a good motive. The jurors during this case were as quick as lightning and convicted Adnan of first-degree murder, in under two hours. How can a jury convict someone for first degree murder in under two hours, especially not having enough evidence to prove Adnan did kill Hae? All they had was Jay’s testimony, which brings me to my second reason as to why Adnan is innocent of the murder of Hae Lee.…

If we only heard the plot that Hrafnkel killed his shepherd Einar because the shepherd rode his favorite horse, we may consider Hrafnkel a cruel man and make a guilty verdict towards him without a second thought. However, after taking a deep look at Hrafnkel's saga, we may find the statement that Hrafnkel was guilty is actually invalidated. Hrafnkel was innocent in this case not only because he was given the right of punishment when he made a strong oral contract with Einar, but also because he had to do this killing for important reasons. During the era Hrafnkel lived in, oral word was more powerful than written word.…

Dharavi is home to more than a million people in Mumbai. These people live in slums concentrated in just one square mile of land. With significant government and market pressure to develop into a world-class city, and increasing population growth continuing to limit housing opportunities, the fate of Dharavi has become a highly contested and politicized issue (Boano, Lamarca & Hunter 2011). As King Solomon, I will ultimately have control over what becomes of Dharavi. Before deciding, however, I will examine several normative theories of ethics to help generate a long-term solution: Utilitarianism, Kantianism, and Ethics of Care.…
