Robert K. Campbell was a law enforcement officer for over twenty years where he was a trainer, weapons tester, and a street cop. Mr. Campbell is one of the most prolific writers today on the topic of fighting weapons. He is also a very big contributing writer for the well-known website Gunblast.com. This article was published by Sonoran Desert Institute. The purpose of this article is to give the reader (us) a better understanding of what type of bullets you can and can't use in a Glock, and why. The reasons why using coated lead bullets are a reliable and consistent form of bullet for the Glock is the topic of this article. In this article, they talk about how lead bullets are bad for the Glock due to the rifling in the barrels having deep …show more content…
With polygonal rifling, there is a tighter gas seal and the bullet grips the barrel more tightly. Less bullet deformation, higher average velocity, and a bore that is easier to clean are among some of the advantages. Some of these issues included "leading the barrel" and exploding barrels due to the extremely high pressures. Soon after the findings of this issue they introduced coated casted bullets that were far less expensive than the jacketed Bullet. By switching to these bullets, the results were significantly improved reducing barrel leading, almost altogether eliminating barrel/lube smoke, and creating a very reliable bullet. It was great to read about what they had to go through when the new self-loading pistols came out and how they fixed the problem. I learned that every bullet should be tested before making it readily available to the public to eliminate potential harm to a shooter and in the same aspect I would recommend this to other students if they plan on bullet

The times that I spent shooting with my dad are some of my fondest memories. From an early age, he taught me how to properly respect firearms, operate them with emphasis on safety, and how to hunt efficiently with them. He taught me these things by letting me shoot and hunt with two very diverse cartridges: the .22lr and the .30/06 Springfield. Although, these cartridges may be the some of the most popular rounds in the country, they differ distinctly in their hunting applications, long-range ability, and produced recoil.…

In this short paper I will go over my thoughts on the article provided for review this week, The Business of Custom Bullet Swaging; By: Dave Corbin. Before I even read this article, I thought it would just be the author trying to talk up custom bullet swaging because it’s his business… While that might kind of be the case I found that there was some useful information in it as well. Mr. Corbin began by saying that he was going to assume that we are “somewhat knowledgeable about bullet casting -- making simple lead bullets by pouring molten lead alloy into split molds and then letting it cool and solidify, then putting the bullets through a lubricator and sizer machine to apply a thick bullet lubricant and adjust the diameter.” First mistake…

With the improved design and increased accuracy, Eugene Stoner’s development has truly saved many American lives. Even though the M16 was prone to jamming in its early stages of existence, the M16 evolved and soon required cleaning after firing rounds throughout the rifle (Morgan). Since the M16 has been modified various times and never required cleaning to begin with, it shows the amateurishness and inexperience of American gun manufacturing. The M16 was a deafening response to the AK-47, the weapon of choice throughout the world. The rotating bold head and gas piston system of the M16 made it possible to produce the light, compact design of the M16 (Dugdale-Pointon).…

Second, Self-doubt enhances performance. "What many people fail to realize is the fact that doubt, in moderation, performs a healthy function. Doubt is a psychological state that prompts us to take stock of our skills and to work to improve in areas where they might be deficient. Karl Wheatley, a researcher at Cleveland State University, argues that doubt can be beneficial -- at least in the case of schoolteachers. He points to the fact that when teachers experience uncertainty about their performance these feelings spur collaboration with others, foster personal reflection, motivate personal development, and prepare the person to accept change."…
